Information Collection and Use

FACTERY offers a number of Services that do not require you to register or provide any personal information to us. In order to provide our full range of services, we collect the following types of information.

Registration Information

To use certain FACTERY Services, you may choose to register personal information appropriate to such Services, such as a user name, password and an e-mail address. FACTERY uses this information in order to provide you with a better experience, to improve the quality of our Services and to contact you about our Services.

Third Party Passwords

For your convenience when using FACTERY Services, you may choose to save your user name and password ('Credentials') for third party sites like Twitter so that you can use those sites in combination with our Services. FACTERY encrypts your Credentials in a cookie (see below) that only FACTERY can use. FACTERY does not otherwise keep, store or share your third party site Credentials with anyone.

Automatically Collected information

FACTERY automatically collects and stores information whenever you visit our Web site or use our Services. This automatically collected information may include your search query, web request, internet protocol (IP) address, unique subscriptionID, browser type, platform and language, internet service provider (ISP)/mobileprovider, referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, geographic allocation (geo location/GPS) information, clickstream data and one or more cookies (see below).

 

We use this information to provide our Services and deliver responsive search results to you, to analyze trends, to administer the Web site,to track users? movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may automatically collect and analyze this information to protect against fraud and other misconduct,

Search Terms and Queries

When you enter a search query using our Services, we will receive the query text and process it together with other automatically collected information described above to return responsive search results to you. Depending on your browser settings, we may also receive search terms or misspelled URLs that you enter into your browser's address bar. We will disassociate your query text data from your IP address after a reasonable period of time, except in limited circumstances, such as if requested to retain the information by law enforcement. In addition to collecting these types of information, we aggregate search query information for internal reporting and targetedadvertising. We collect the above types of information to improve theresponsiveness of the search results and the overall quality of the online experience, and to facilitate product monitoring, product improvement, targeted advertising, and monetizing commercially oriented search keywords.

Aggregate Information

We count, track, and aggregate visitor and user activity into our analysis of general traffic flows within our Site. We may use a third-party tracking service that uses cookies (see below) and log files to track aggregate, non-personal information about our visitors and users, our Website and its use, to improve the quality of our services and to understand site usage.

Links

FACTERY uses links in a manner that enables us to keep track of whether links have been followed. We use this information to improve the quality of our services and content.

User communications

When you send email or other communications to FACTERY, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services.

Cookies

FACTERY uses cookies. Cookies are small files containing a pair of character strings comprising an opaque key-value pair. When you visit or use the Web site, FACTERY places one or more cookies on your computer's hard drive that will uniquely identify your browser. If you choose to submit personal information to FACTERY, that information may be linked to the data stored in a cookie. We use cookies to improve the quality and responsiveness of our Services, to enhance your experience on our Web site and to understand usage. If you sign-up to use third-party services through FACTERY,we will set an encrypted cookie so that you do not have to enter your third-party credentials (your user name and password) more than once.

 

FACTERY uses cookies to help advertisers and publishers serve and manage ads across theWeb. Some of our business partners (e.g., adve rtisers) use cookies on our Web site. We have no access to or control over these cookies. This Privacy Statementcovers the use of cookies by FACTERY only and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

If you reject all cookies, you may not be able to use all the interactive features of our Web site and you may not be able to take full advantage of all offerings. However, FACTERY Services do not require that you accept cookies.

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)

FACTERY may use clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs) to help us better manage content on our Web site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of our users. We may tie the information gathered by clear gifs to user's personal information. We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

FACTERY will not sell or rent your personal information to anyone without your consent. FACTERY may share personal information about you when:

  • We have your consent to share the information.
  • We need to share information to provide the Services that you have requested.
  • We need to send the information to companies that help FACTERY provide the Services you have requested.
  • We are required to respond to legal process or any legitimate request by authorities with which we must comply.

Third Party Content Providers .

Some elements of FACTERY's Services, particularly certain types of search results and geographical related content delivered in search results, may be supplied to you by third parties. FACTERY may share some of the information we automatically collect from you or your browser (see above) to those third parties so that they can provide those particular elements.   We may share the following information with third parties: (a) your Internet Protocol (IP)address; (b) the address of the last URL you visited prior to clicking throughto the Site; (c) your browser and platform type (e.g., a Netscape browser on a Macintosh platform); (d) your browser language;(e) the data in any undeleted cookies that your browser previously accepted from us; and (f) the search queries you submit  .

Agents and Service Provider

FACTERY may provide personal information to trusted partners, agents and service providers who work on behalf of FACTERY under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help FACTERY provide its Services, but they do not have any independent right to use or share this information.

Sharing Aggregate Information

We aggregate search query, demographic, geographical, statistical, historical and other similar information about our users and members and their use of our Services. Aggregate information is not shared together with personal information.

Legal Disclaimer

We reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with legal process.

Choice/Opt-out

FACTERYmay provide notifications, service updates, newsletters or other informationvia email at your request. You may choose to stop receiving messages you previously requested at any time. If you no longer wish to receive email messages, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each message. For certain service-related emails, you will not have the ability to opt-out.

 

You will be notified when your personal information is collected by any third party that is not our agent/service provider, so you can make an informed choice as to whether or not to share your information with that party.

 

Bulletin Boards/Chat Rooms/User Generated Forums

If you use a bulletin board, chat room or add similar user generated content forums on this Web site, you should be aware that any personal information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for any information you choose to submit in these forums.

Links to Other Sites

FACTERYmay provide links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by us. FACTERY is not responsible for the privacy practices of any other sites. Remain aware of when you leave our Web site and make sure to read the privacy statements of each and every other site that collects your personal information. This Privacy Statement applies only to information collected by FACTERY.

Access to Personal Information

FACTERYwill make a good faith effort to provide you with timely access to your personal information. You may access and correct, update, deactivate or request deletion of your personal information data by emailing support@facterylabs.com   or by contacting FACTERY using the contact information listed below. FACTERYmay delete such data at your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. Upon your request, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to remove your data, but portions of your data may remain on our production and back-up servers indefinitely.

Security

FACTERYfollows generally accepted industry standards and techniques to protect information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Business Transitions

Our Policy Towards Children

Our Web site and Services are not directed to persons under 13.
